This was Clerkenwell Design Week here in London and among the sleek new modern furniture and lighting designs were these spectacularlly colourful chairs.

The quirkiest was by the contemporary artist Nina Saunders for textile company Camira, using their New Blazer fabric in vivid brights patchworked on a cut out vintage chair called "Random Sample 2010.".

Equally playful was the ornate, rococco carnival painted chair with bright striped & diamond print fabric by Cappelleti.
